  1. Hey all, I am not sure if you check these messages or respond to them, but I figure it’s worth a shot! My name is Antonella and I run a program called PUENTES, a bilingual (Spanish and English) experiential outdoor program for Latinx and BIPOC-identifying folx.

We are working on agreeing on an alternative to “leave no trace” since LNT is so embedded with values that exclude and harm folx in our communities. In the brain storming we were playing with “Positive Reciprocal Recreation” which would have an awesome feline-related acronym.

In searching on the internet using those key words, I came across something on your website from 11/29/22, a graphic with someone climbing and the text reads “Support responsible and reciprocal recreation.”

I am curious if you all already have resources or specific literature or initiatives on this topic that you would be able/willing to share with us, that way we can amplify the work y’all are already doing in the field of cultivating more inclusive outdoor recreation.

I was not sure if this graphic had more about it/behind it (I was not able to find anything). Please let me know if the concept of reciprocal recreation is something that y’all have done work around, otherwise, I would like PUENTES to continue working with compiling resources and voices to reframe “LNT” in our programming and hopefully inspire other orgs, companies, and programs to do the same.

Muchisimas gracias for reading this, and I hope to be in touch.
